About me

After gaining my BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering I worked in various development roles in a UK electronics company creating Radar, Sonar and periscope simulators. Customers included the British, American and Australian navies.

After 12 years I was lured away by the prospect of a new life on the Côte d'Azur and worked for a couple of years for a small company supplying Computer Aided Design systems, before joining an American multinational semiconductor manufacturer whose European HQ was in Sophia Antipolis

Gravitating from pure development to IT administration and handling the European IT aspects of various spin offs, acquisitions and mergers I found my duties increasing until I became responsible for the IT environment for all sites outside the Americas (Europe, India and Asia) - about 400 people in 25 sites in 12 countries, looking after everything from Design Centres of 100+ people down to 1 person home offices.

Following a change in my employer's strategy which involved the shutting down of its largest overseas sites, I was faced with the stark reality that very few companies could now afford to pay full time for someone with my skills, but that many companies and individuals would benefit from the use of these skills on an as-needed basis, so I formed my own business to cater for these markets.
